When summer is around the corner, my friends and I cannot stop daydreaming about our day trips and long weekends getaways in Costa Brava, so If you are visiting Catalunya, Spain or live close by in Barcelona, Costa Brava is not to miss, it’s a paradise for beach lovers, water sports, sailing, snorkelling and nature lovers alike.

The region is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and calas in the world, very know for its charming coastal towns clear waters and medieval castles and small towns.

Here are my Top Calas / beaches in the region:

Calella de Palafrugell:

Calella de Palafrugell is a stunning coastal town, renowned for its charming, white-washed houses, winding streets, and crystal-clear waters. Aiguablava is a stunning beach located in the town of Begur. The beach is known for its crystal-clear waters, which are perfect for snorkelling when the weather is cooperating. Local tip, try to come as early as possible to get a spot, as half of the beach is private, and you have to pay for the sunbed.

Cala Sa Tuna:

The cala is home to a charming fishing village, which offers visitors a glimpse into local life, as well as a variety of restaurants serving up fresh seafood dishes. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Costa Brava region.

The beach if full of rocks so remember to bring water shoes and something comfortable to lay on.

Aiguafreda:
